What the tags become
This column is an article: heading, lede, paragraphs, two lists, a quote. Each tag arrives as its own paragraph style, named from the source. Bold is a character style called Bold; a coloured span arrives as the colour alone.
Paragraph styles: Heading 1, Body · lede, List bullet, Quote · pull.
Character styles hold only the difference: Bold, a colour, a size.
Numbering is InDesign’s own. This list starts at three because the HTML says so.
Restyle Body once and every body paragraph follows.

Fonts arrive as family plus style, never outlines.1
This is positioned HTML, rendered in a real browser and measured element by element before it becomes IDML.
This block is CSS columns: one frame, three real columns, balanced the way the browser balanced them.
1 A font missing on your machine is reported by InDesign, never quietly swapped.
Linked, not embedded. The fade is a gradient feather.
The image ships in Links/ beside the .idml, placed with this crop. The dark fade over it is an InDesign transparency effect, not a flattened pixel.
